Change the world one mind at a time
Every year Ostrich Air partners with companies that align with our values of integrity and innovation to capture the creative minds of our future and present engineers. This year we have decided to build and compete in the Discovery TV series Battlebots. We have a have a high caliber team with several key partners that have begun to design and build.
The goal will be to design unique robots/drones that would push the limits of what the technology is currently possible while inspiring future and current engineers to step out of the box.
Code Name: Double Tap
AOR- Classified
Double Tap is its nickname. You can't pronounce its real name. It was developed as a security robot. It is autonomous, covered with sensors, and its purpose is to detect, intercept, and disable intruders so they can be interrogated. You can't outrun it. A few years ago, it was smuggled out of an atomic research lab somewhere in Asia through an oil pipeline and flown to a reverse engineering facility in the Nevada desert. There it was taken apart, reassembled, and put to use guarding the place. All was fine until last year when coincidentally, BattleBots moved to Las Vegas. That year, the Nevada facility experienced several intrusion attempts by hostile surface drones. They upgraded the weapon on Double Tap and reprogrammed it to deal with the new threat. When it was learned that there would be another season of BattleBots in Las Vegas, it was decided to enter Double Tap to gather intelligence about potential adversaries.
